I realize that not all of my blog readers live and boat in areas that are vulnerable to hurricanes, but for those that do, this blog is for you.
September is peak-season for the Atlantic hurricane season, which is just around the corner. Thus far, we have been fortunate to have only two named storms, especially since predictions for this year's hurricane season pointed to an above average number of storms.
Let's not hold our breath, though, and think we are in the clear. As I said, peak season has yet to come, and the chance that we won't have at least one major hurricane heading our way is slim. So, what do we do? We prepare.
I have written a series of articles on how to prepare your boat to weather a hurricane that help boaters know how to ready their boat if they plan to trailer it, moor it or ride out the storm. The series includes a handy checklist as well. Check out the links below if hurricane preparation pertains to you. If it doesn't, count yourself blessed.
