Tropical Storm Danny Likely to Follow Hurricane Bill
The National Hurricane Center issued it's first advisory today at 11:00 a.m. for Tropical Storm Danny.
The tropical storm is currently moving at 18 MPH toward the west-northwest with maximum sustained winds of 45 MPH. Forecasts suggest that Tropical Storm Danny will follow a similar path as Hurricane Bill, with a turn to the north-northwest on Friday. If this projected path is fulfilled, Danny will turn before making landfall in North Carolina, but could affect the Outer Banks. Forecast models predict Tropical Storm Danny strengthening into at least a Category 1 hurricane and making landfall between Massachusetts and Nova Scotia.
Although Tropical Storm Danny is not projected to make landfall in the Bahamas, Florida or the Southeastern coast of the U.S., all residents of the eastern seaboard should monitor the progress of the storm. Particularly, pay attention to high waves and surf as well as rip currents created by both Hurricane Bill and Tropical Storm Danny. Know your marine weather forecast and the marine watches, warnings and advisories before getting underway for a day of boating.
