Austrian boat builder Frauscher Boats unveiled the world's first hybrid boat in mid-May at a Chris Craft dealership in San Francisco.
With all the hype surrounding hybrid vehicles, it stood to reason that hybrids would eventually make their way into the powerboating world as well. But, the question is: Is the hybrid concept all hype?
Just this month, Boating Life Magazine published an exclusive test of the boat's performance against a Monterey 254 FSX. The results? According the author of the article, comparing the Frauscher's electric/diesel propulsion system to the Monterey is like comparing apples to oranges.
